My First Day

Arrrrrggghhh *melan mode*. Sorry for the very late update about my IA coz it's been tremendously *long sigh* tiring......So here it goes, from the first day of my IA....

First day, i was quite curious and a bit excited though i was feeling rather scared too. Well a change of environment, meeting new people are some things i don't really like doing hehe...* and I described myself as being adventurous in my resume hauhua* Anyway, i was with my 2 other indon friends that day. There are 4 other students from NTU who got accepted too. So we arrived and there was a great assembly in the carpark, some safety campaign thing so all the workers, boss, everyone in that company was there. What amazed me was that there was this safety message being read aloud in like 6 languages or so, english, malay, tamil, chinese, bangladeshi, myanmar, vietnamese, and i don't know what else :s:s...Yep, it is a super multiracial company huh...

After that we were given a briefing about the company, safety measures while working and we went for a short tour around the shipyard *have i told you my working place is a yard?? yep, right by the sea* For the first time in my life, right before ny eyes, humongous structures!!! Jack-up, semisubmersible, have you heard of all that? I saw all of them hehe....*proud :P* The excitement didn't end there...i was given the company's uniform, which i have to wear. It was a white overall, those worn by mechanics, contractors, do you have any idea how it looks like? It's ugly :s and with that, a helmet, safety belt, goggle, earplug, shoes *hard one, like boots*, torchlight and measuring tape....yep, and i'm carrying/wearing all that every day...*end of first day*...to be cont'd...
