LoVe...

Love….been hearing lots of that word these few days…well what’s the world without love huh? I was in the choir for a musical production last week, and there was this one song in which the lyrics said "but what's money?..if you don't have love..". My fren was making a joke bout it. He said "but what's love if you don't have money." Hahaha...bet most of you would agree with that. U don't?? Come on...I wish I could not agree with that, but frankly...hmmm....

Last week, the chaplain (a priest who is the spiritual director) of this catholic community which I’m a part of in campus, mentions a lot about love in his sermon. The main point is that, there is only one simple rule in this life –don’t know why the world makes it seems so complicated- which is to love, love God and love thy neighbours. Love above everything, above materials, above laws, above theology.

Today, our chaplain again emphasized in his sermon about this point of loving others, about faith being nothing if there is no concrete action. And just a few moments ago, I was viewing my old fren’s blog in which there was an article about love. It wasn’t about romantic love, but more towards loving one’s country and countrymen. The author was saying that he felt sad being in a country where the majority are Christians but there is a lack of love for there were so many injustices and people who are suffering.

I don’t want to go into a deep discussion about love, because it is such a cliché, isn’t it?? *duh* And moreover, because we don’t need to talk about love, we need to act it out. We don’t even have to define love because –what I believe- every creature on this earth, by his/its very nature knows what it is, even though sometimes it is buried too deep inside. Everyone wants to be loved, everyone’s looking for it, but who’s gonna be the one giving if everyone’s just looking?

I know, I sound like a preacher don’t I?? hahaha…Know that song “Where’s the Love?” by Black Eyed Peas …”Can you practice what you preach? Can you turn the other cheek?”….and all I have to say…”Father Father Father help us…Send us some guidance from above....coz people got me got me questionin..Where is the Love??”
